About Jax

Jax is a proud Wuthathi and Zenadth Kes woman, mother, wife and creative practitioner. She currently lives on Kombumerri/Yugembeh country.

Jax found her creative practice at the QL2 Centre for Youth Dance in Canberra. This led her to pursuing further study at NAISDA Dance College and the Queensland University of Technology, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance/Indigenous Studies) with Distinction.

Throughout her career, Jax has experienced an array of amazing opportunities artistically as a performer, choreographer, event host and creative producer, and professionally, working in the arts and culture, education, sports, events and not-for-profit sectors. In 2015, Jax co-founded Muggera Cultural Enterprise, a cultural performance and education company.

Jax has continued to build a practice that dismantles performative allyship, promotes fundamental change, and highlights the value and importance of First Peoples. Her practice explores the interrogation of the roles of organisations in creating culturally safe spaces for First Peoples, both now and into the future.

She is unequivocally dedicated to her family, culture, identity and the creative practices of First Peoples.
