James Caspersz-Loney

Born to a Sri Lankan mother and Australian father in Perth, acting wasn’t seen as a viable career path for young James Caspersz-Loney; it wasn’t until halfway through Year 12 that he realised his interest and curiosity in exploring human behaviour, and a desire to tell stories all amalgamated perfectly on stage and screen. After graduating high school, James completed diplomas in both Musical Theatre and Acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) before being accepted into NIDA Acting 2020.

In his final year at NIDA, James received the Ben Gannon AO Scholarship awarded to a BFA or MFA student for their Excellence and Achievement.

When not acting, James can be found taking photos on his film camera, at the beach or at the Ritz Cinemas, seeing what movies are on offer that day.
