Esha Jessy is an actor and writer from Perth, raised in a vibrant and loud South Asian household. Growing up, her personality was shaped by sneakily reading romance books and loving the movie Bend It Like Beckham.
She stumbled through her awkward teen years with her one true companion – comedy, which served as a way for her to connect and laugh with others. Through high school, she was a state level tennis player, social basketballer and took part in school musicals and plays. She continued to explore her love for storytelling doing student productions at UWA. There, she acted, wrote and directed across several shows which included sketch comedies, musicals and dramas.
For FRINGEWORLD 2022, Esha wrote a play called Grow Up! a coming-of-age story about three recently graduated best friends and the challenges they face as they become “adults”. It’s also important to mention that she did sometimes study for her English and Literature degree (that one’s for you mum and dad).
Esha has a passion for telling authentic genuine stories that are full of heart and is keen to hopefully be a part of the representation she saw in that movie that she couldn’t stop watching as a child.
