Home Profile Ella Sexton

Ella Sexton

Originally from London, Ella moved to Sydney with her family at a young age.

Ella’s introduction to performance was through movement; from dance training, to performing in musicals, and attending Australian Youth Theatre Program workshops in her school holidays. Ella has always displayed a passion for storytelling, constantly seeking outlets for her creative energy. In 2019 Ella was selected to perform at OnStage – the NSW Drama Exhibition for leading Year 12 students.

Outside of her creative pursuits, Ella was a state level sprinter and long jumper, and competed in representative-level netball. Growing up alongside a sibling with additional needs, Ella became deeply involved with social enterprises supporting Australians with disabilities and is a passionate advocate for this sector of society. Before her selection for NIDA, Ella was studying Psychology, which has enriched her acting and character work during her training.

In 2023, Ella was cast as Alice, in the short film Seashells, which is set to be released later this year. As a 2024 graduate, Ella’s love for storytelling through stage and screen has been enhanced during her time at NIDA, leaving her excited to enter the industry.
