About Aislinn’s

Aislinn’s interest in creating immersive experiences fuelled her desire to design for performance. Aislinn completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design for Performance) in 2018 and continued into the Masters program.
While at NIDA, Aislinn has deepened her experience of performative modes and interpretations, creating work inspired by movement, gesture and light through pursuing the scope for temporal and transformative design.
The 2019 NIDA production pool (no water) was a highly collaborative project with the scenography integrated into dramaturgy from the onset. Aislinn’s design incorporated a large-scale gestural set element conceived as both performance space and projection surface to forge an evocative and cohesive design and performance language.
In 2019, Aislinn worked with Jim Sharman on NIDA’s production of Twelfth Night to imagine and translate the movement and gesture of the characters into the performative space of the contemporary realisation.
Aislinn was awarded an exchange scholarship MADE by the Opera House 2020. The Multidisciplinary Australia Denmark Exchange entails a six-week collaborative project in Denmark involving design workshops and masterclasses aligned with the Utzon design principles.
Aislinn is excited to immerse herself in the interchange of design thinking that can contribute to a shared understanding of spatial and cultural contexts.
