NIDA Deputy Director/CEO and Head of Design for Performance, Michael Scott-Mitchell, was one the international consultants invited by the Hong Kong Academy of the Performing Arts, to participate in their curriculum benchmarking review last week.

‘National and international benchmarking is critical to NIDA, and all similar institutions, in testing that our collective thinking is current  and that we’re able to return to our respective institutions assured that we are delivering best practice in curriculum development,’ said Michael.

‘In this particular instance, where a group of international consultants was invited to review curriculum development for the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA), the discussions were animated, open and focussed, and ultimately extremely beneficial for NIDA’s ongoing curriculum development. A highlight was the lecture by panel member Dr Tuomas Auvinen, CEO of Creader LTD, on ‘Leading Creativity’, which was very informative.’

‘It is encouraging to confirm that NIDA’s approach to curriculum development is in-line with best practice at an international level. This opens doors for us: not just with HKAPA, but other like-minded institutions.’

This is also testament to NIDA’s commitment to building collaborative opportunities with organisations across the globe, as well as within Australia.
