NIDA would like to pay tribute to Emeritus Professor Dame Leonie Kramer AC DBE who recently passed away at the age of 91.

NIDA would like to pay tribute to Emeritus Professor Dame Leonie Kramer AC DBE who recently passed away at the age of 91.Dame Leonie had a formidable career in academia. Among her many achievements she was Australia’s first female professor of English and the ABC’s first female Chairman.

Dame Leonie was also an active member of the NIDA community, serving for many years on the Board of Studies (1958 to 1987) and as Chairman from 1983; serving on the NIDA Board of Directors (1986 to 1994), and as Chair from 1987 and as Deputy Chair from 1991; and as a Director of the NIDA Foundation Trust (2005 to 2010). She was also a generous donor to NIDA.
