When he was ten years old, Ellis Dolan dreamed of playing the role of Eddie of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The original role was then played by Meat Loaf. Little Ellis not only admired his talent in flawlessly captivating the audience, watching the movie also shaped his dream of being — or rather, playing— the character of Eddie. Life went on as usual and Ellis graduated from NIDA with a Diploma in Musical Theatre in 2017.
Fast forward to 2023, that dream came true to its finest form. On the 50th Anniversary of the well-known musical, Ellis is living out his dream playing Eddie and Dr.Scott, just like his Meat Loaf did in the original motion picture.
And here’s the best part: Ellis’ NIDA family showed up to support him. One friend even went a step further by printing an unofficial merch with Ellis’ headshot and wearing it to show. If that’s not genuine support for a fellow NIDA alumnus, we don’t know what is.

The brand-new Australian production of The Rocky Horror Show is playing now through 1 April at the Theatre Royal Sydney.
