NIDA Open has teamed up with the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) to help early childhood centres celebrate Book Week, with our new program for children aged 3�5 years, Play Date.

The April school holidays always herald a massive two weeks of classes here at NIDA. Not only is there an extensive holiday program in full swing, but each year, NIDA Open warmly welcomes a cohort of students from a variety of schools from Western Australia.

Earlier this month, Daron Oram,BA, MA, SFHEA � a Senior Voice Lecturer at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London � took the time out of his busy schedule to deliver a two-hour seminar to our Master of Fine Arts (Voice) students, on dyslexia, dyspraxia and voice work.

The young people of Bankstown will, for the first time, have local access to short courses with NIDA Open. Launching at the Bankstown Arts Centre, home to a diverse mix of organisations that are geared towards the development of children and young people, NIDA Open’s Bankstown venue will provide drama classes for grades 3�6 and 7�10 throughout the year.

Sharpen your senses and prepare yourself for NIDA’s Nick Enright Season of student productions, featuring the next generation of Australia’s actors, circus artists and creative professionals! From 7�19 June, our undergraduate and MFA (Design for Performance) students, together with students from NICA, will showcase their exceptional talents to the public in five ambitious and unforgettable play productions.

As I walk through the halls of NIDA, constantly finding hidden rooms full of magic-makers, I reflect on all that the institute has achieved and all that is to come.
