About the show
It’s March 2020, and Australia joins the world in lockdown to try and avoid the devastation of the deadly COVID-19 virus. Six final-year NIDA acting students gather each week on a Zoom meeting, as their lives unravel. The stories of this time are only starting to emerge. The idea of social justice has new resonance.
Using pre-recorded material and peripheral performances, this work features the characters’ communication via Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, text and voice messages, as they trade news items, links, bits of video and music and powerful accounts of hardship and resilience.
Highlighting the sense of the absurd and responses to the pressures of lockdown, renowned large-scale theatre and event director Nigel Jamieson directs a multi-media collage about the fragility of our lives.
