NIDA Melbourne, a new creative space at Creative Spaces: Guild in the heart of the Southbank Arts Precinct, has announced a fresh program of events and an invitation to all artists to take part in a residency, boost their artistic practice and develop the next stage of their creative project.

Based in the modern NIDA Melbourne studios, NIDA Launchpad is a one-week residency open to applications from performing artists at all stages of their careers. Supported by creative feedback and project development, NIDA Launchpad provides a safe creative space for a Melbourne-based independent artist, arts organisation or creative collective to workshop fresh ideas, think big, put thoughts into action, be critically reflexive and engage with the NIDA community.

NIDA Launchpad will support performing artists dedicated to developing a new performance project and help them get their work off the ground. NIDA Launchpad is an inclusive initiative which welcomes applications from artists of all backgrounds including those who identify as Indigenous, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), LGBTIQ and non-binary, as well as artists with disabilities.

Applications for NIDA Launchpad close 6 November 2017. Find out more and make an application by visiting nida.edu.au/courses/nida-launchpad.

NIDA Melbourne is curating a series of stimulating signature evenings called NIDAnights. Led by Dr Nithya Nagarajan, a curator with significant experience at the interface of creative practice, academic research and arts management, the NIDAnights program is an opportunity to open your mind and stimulate your senses. Workshops, masterclasses, performances and roundtables will be presented in partnership with change-makers in the creative ecosystem of Melbourne. NIDAnights kicks off on 15 November 2017 and takes place every month. The full program is here.
