The National Institute of Dramatic Art is now accepting applications for the 2018 intake to its world-class higher education courses.

As the organisation progresses and adapts to a constantly shifting industry and beyond, there are greater opportunities than ever before for those looking to pursue a career in creative and cultural industries, with accredited Vocational Diploma, Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees.

‘Several decades of training creative practitioners, some of whom have gone on to become the world’s most celebrated, has produced unmatched training standards and study options. This has enabled NIDA to become a leader and inspirer, both culturally and creatively,’ commented NIDA Director/CEO Kate Cherry.

‘NIDA continues to focus on being a truly multi-dimensional institution, as we strive to innovate and collaborate for the future of Australia’s – and the world’s – creative and cultural industries,’ added Cherry.

In addition to the illustrious Acting course, NIDA provides Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in: Costume (costume-making), Design for Performance, Properties and Objects (props-making), Staging, and Technical Theatre and Stage Management.

Master of Fine Arts degrees are offered in Cultural Leadership, Design for Performance, Directing, Voice (voice teaching) and Writing for Performance, which are all delivered in the NIDA Graduate School building. Accredited Vocational Diplomas are also offered in Live Production and Technical Services, Musical Theatre, Specialist Make-up Services, and Stage and Screen Performance.

‘We are a hotbed of ideas and progress and are delivering some of the best training in the world and forming new partnerships to pollinate Australia’s cultural hubs, creative industries, business landscapes and education centres,’ said Cherry.

‘Not only do we have exemplary training know-how, we also have award-winning facilities, expert teaching staff and guest lecturers, as well as a unique balance of theoretical and practical training and much more.’

‘As always, we are looking for passion and commitment, and know that this runs deep in aspiring artists and creative professionals, so we encourage them to find out more about our courses, and understand what NIDA can offer them on their creative journey as they pursue their dreams.’

Aspiring NIDA students can find out more about all the courses on offer in 2018 at the upcoming Info Night on 16 August, either in person at NIDA’s campus in Sydney or by streaming online. Or they can apply today, by visiting apply.nida.edu.au. Applications close 30 September 2017.
