About Emily
Emily is based in Greater Western Sydney and is a proud Tubba-gah, Wiradjuri and Gumbaynggirr woman with a passion for sewing, costumes and history.
At NIDA, Emily was taught to expand her skills and love for historical accuracy in costume. This has also opened up opportunities for her to expand her interest in millinery, tailoring and handmade bespoke footwear.
Emily has a passion for both theatre and film and found joy working on Ghost Lights and The Removalists, as well as on secondment at Bangarra and Wakefield. She particularly enjoyed working for Midnight Feast at Sydney Opera House.
Emily enjoys both making costumes and the role of a Costume Supervisor. Emily has begun to write a guidebook on collaborating with First Nation people in costume, titled The Etiquette of Fitting First Nation Peoples of Australia. See below for Emily’s presentation.
