About Laura

Laura is a Sydney-based screenwriter and playwright with a background in film studies and English.

She has been passionate about screenwriting from a young age. During her undergraduate degree she enjoyed making short films, as well as co-writing a children’s series for Maliarts in Mexico City.

Her debut play Don’t Hate the Player, which she also directed, was performed at Sydney’s Old Fitz Theatre in 2019, before playing at Adelaide Fringe Festival in March of 2020.

During her time at NIDA, Laura delighted in the collaborative projects. After graduating she looks forward to be a part of the new styles emerging in Australian contemporary cinema.
