About Lea

Lea is a musical director, voice teacher, singer and educator. She has more than 20 years’ experience in teaching voice and directing vocal groups. In 1996 Lea founded the Endeavour Harmony Chorus, an all-female a cappella ensemble. Under Lea’s leadership, the Chorus has won numerous awards including first place in the John Lamble Australasian Choral Championships, and the Australian Choral Grand Prix. Some of the more notable performances of the chorus include the prestigious Confluence of India at the Sydney Opera House in 2016 and a performance in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand in 2015. The Chorus contributed backing vocals for the original Happy Feet movie.

In 2013, Lea started her company, Raise Your Voice and gave up her corporate job to teach voice full time. She attends voice workshops on a regular basis and successfully completed the three-week intensive Lessac Kinesensic Voice and Body training at NIDA. Lea’s teaching philosophy is centred around a holistic approach to teaching voice. Her areas of interest are freeing the voice through movement, helping students to reframe limiting beliefs, and the application of singing skills for actors/acting skills for singers.

Before becoming a professional voice teacher, Lea completed a Bachelor of Nursing, then Postgraduate Diploma in OHS (University of Technology) and worked in finance, telecommunications and heavy metal manufacturing.
