Dr Suzanne Osmond is an experienced educator, arts practitioner, curriculum developer and researcher. She has professional industry experience as a costume supervisor for the Asian Games in Doha, the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony, The Lion King (Disney), Love Never Dies (Really Useful Company), and numerous other performance and film projects including The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions and Disgrace.
She was awarded a PhD from the University of Technology, Sydney, for her research into the relationship between costume design and cultural identity. Dr. Osmond has an international research profile focusing on the historical and socio-cultural aspects of performance costume. She co-edits the peer-reviewed journal Studies in Costume and Performance (Intellect) and has contributed a chapter on design communication to the book, Performance Costume: New Perspectives and Methods (2021). She was post-doctoral research fellowship recipient within an Academy of Finland funded research project at Aalto University and is currently engaged in research into performing arts pedagogies.
