Rita Kalnejais is a Victorian College of Arts graduate who has worked extensively as an actor at Belvoir, Griffin, Malthouse and Sydney Theatre Companies.

Her first play, B.C. was directed by Simon Stone and was nominated for Best New Australian Play in the 2009 Greenroom Awards. In 2012, Rita’s play Babyteeth premiered at Belvoir St Theatre and was subsequently produced by the State Theatre Company of South Australia in 2013. She was resident playwright at Sydney Theatre Company in 2011 and at Soho Theatre, London in 2014-2015 where First Love is the Revolution enjoyed a popular season.

Rita wrote the screenplay adaptation of her play Babyteeth for producer Alex White (Whitefalk Films) with Jan Chapman as EP. The film stars Eliza Scanlen, Essie Davis, Toby Wallace and Ben Mendelsohn. In 2019, it screened at festivals in Venice (IFF), London (BFI), Zurich, Hamburg, Istanbul, China (Pingyao), France, Warsaw, Chicago, Mumbai and Sao Paulo.

She is currently writing films for Searchlight, Netflix, Ray, House, Anonymous and Blueprint.

Anthea Williams is an award-winning theatre director and an emerging film director. She is a Churchill Fellow and develops both theatre and screen writing.

Anthea’s directing credits include Pony and Since Ali Died (Griffin), Winyanboga Yurringa, Hir, Kill the Messenger, Cinderella, Forget Me Not, and Old Man (Belvoir), Flight Paths and Thing I Could Never Tell Steven (National Theatre of Parramatta),  M’ap Boulé (UTP), Sleeplessness (Carriageworks), Mother’s Ruin (National and UK tours), The Humans (Red Line), Two Cigarettes, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Turf, suddenlossofdignity.com, and The Great British Country Fete (The Bush), The Appleton Ladies Potato Race and The Pink Hammer (The Court), Love and Information, The Colby Sisters of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, #KillAllMen (NIDA) among others.

From 2011 to 2017 she was Literary Manager then Associate Director – New Work at Belvoir. From 2007 to 2011 Anthea was Associate Director bushfutures at London’s Bush Theatre.
